A.W.A.N.A. happens at FBC:

General Information:

AWANA is held every Sunday evening from 5:45 to 7:15 PM for children 3 years old through 8th grade. On Tuesday nights from 6:30 PM for our High School students. The club year typically runs from the middle of August until the beginning of May. There is a Registration fee of $20.00 for the first Child with $15.00 fee for the second child. each additional child is no charge.

  • On Sunday nights, from 5:45 to 7:15 pm for children ages three years through 8th Grade.
  • On Tuesday nights, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm for Varsity.

Club meetings are planned around ages and school grades and is broken into three general areas:

  • Handbook Time – This segment allows clubbers to recite or complete sections from their handbooks. Clubbers are separated into small groups with a leader assigned to that group.
  • Game Time – This segment features unique games on the AWANA Game Circle.
  • Council Time – This segment brings clubbers and leaders together for a time of singing, an exciting Bible lesson and presentation of Awards.

About AWANA:

The acronym A.W.A.N.A. comes from the first letters of Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed (II Timothy 2:15).

AWANA is a non-denominational ministry that assist churches in reaching children and teenagers with the gospel of Jesus Christ and training them to serve Him. AWANA Clubs International supplies programs, materials and training for more than 12,000 churches inover 110 countries. This message to churches is simple: We are here to serve you with a ministry that is all about fun with a purpose – to win and grow kids for Christ!

Here at FBC, our AWANA ministry works with other ministriews to give our children and youth a well-balanced emphasis on knowing Jesus and how we can live for Him and serve Him.

 

 

FBC has the following AWANA groups:

  • Ages 3-4 – Cubbies (co-ed)
  • Cubbies is unique because it supports parents as the primary source of spiritual nurturing. By working directly with their child on the weekly handbook lessons, parents become active participants in their child’s spiritual development.
  • Grades K-2nd – Sparks (co-ed)
  • The handbooks features basic truths about God, Jesus Christ, salvation and the Bible. Along the way, Sparky, the friendly firefly, encourages boys and girls to learn verses and complete assignments throughout the three handbooks. A child will recite well over 150 unique verses, many of which cover salvation and key Christian Doctrine.
  • Grades 3rd-4th – Truth and Training (girls)
  • Truth and Training reflects the passion of AWANA to teach 3rd through 6th grade boys and girls the truth of God’s Word and to train them to follow Christ in their daily lives.
  • Grades 3rd-4th – Truth and Training (boys)
  • Truth and Training reflects the passion of AWANA to teach 3rd through 6th grade boys and girls the truth of God’s Word and to train them to follow Christ in their daily lives.
  • Grades 5th-6th – Truth and Training (girls)
  • Truth and Training reflects the passion of AWANA to teach 3rd through 6th grade boys and girls the truth of God’s Word and to train them to follow Christ in their daily lives.
  • Grades 5th-6th – Truth and Training (boys)
  • Truth and Training reflects the passion of AWANA to teach 3rd through 6th grade boys and girls the truth of God’s Word and to train them to follow Christ in their daily lives.
  • Grades 7th-8th – Jr. Varsity (co-ed)
  • Three turbulent years of middle school. Three great books to guide you through.
  • Dashboard Series
    Part 1 is designed for you to help your students learn how to respond to God’s faithfulness by studying key figures from the Bible. Part 2 tackles the realities of life by studying 12 key questions asked by middle schoolers today.
  • Roadsign Series
    Part 1 helps students get where they’re going by walking through the Bible – Genesis through Revelation. Part 2 is a study dealing with the trials, temptations, and tough times of the Christian life.
  • Billboard Series
    Part 1 covers lessons about God from Israel’s desert trek. Part 2 covers frequently asked questions about God and straight-talk answers from Scripture.
  • Grades 9th-12th – Varsity (co-ed) AKX
  • Our high-school program, AKX, features an energetic look, biblically based content, life application and an emphasis on Scripture memory. These materials provide youth pastors and leaders with relevant tools for in-depth, focused discipleship. They are challenging and thought provoking yet accessible to students from all spiritual backgrounds. AKX materials are available in NIV, NKJV and KJV.The best part about AKX is its flexibility. Youth groups can use our entire program or select only the portions they need. Whatever the choice, AKX offers you adaptable alternatives grounded solidly in God’s Word.
