FBC - Pray for Karen Flowers who is having heart surgery to fix some of the heart problems she has experienced the last few years. It is a laser ablation surgery. She is traveling to South Africa where her son, Kelly will meet up with her. She hopes to have the surgery on Friday, September 10. Please pray for travel and safety, wisdom for doctors and a quick healing time. She is looking forward to her time with her son.

Prayer for protection over the schools and the evil and incorrect curriculum they are using. Prayer for all the children. And pray for the Pakistan church in Asia.
Steven Rediger – Prayer request for health & finances. Both are not good and getting worse.
Steve Robenalt (Compassion In Action) - One of those in our ministry is a gentleman named Patty whom I have known the last eight years. Our prayer was that he would surrender his life to Jesus as Savior. We met last Friday at a local McDonalds and it was apparent the Spirit of God was working in his heart as well as guiding our time together. After talking for awhile he said he was ready to give his life to Jesus, resting in his forgiveness. And so we prayed right there! Would you continue to pray for him especially in the coming weeks, that God would guide and give him strength to continue taking steps of faith in this new life with the Savior?
Jonathan Ahnert – I have a friend Kendra Mckay who lives in Everett, Washington and she is a single mom and has been unemployed for 5 months. She no longer qualifies for unemployment and assistance programs are spread pretty thin. She needs her dad to cosign on her school loan or she needs a job to avoid getting evicted by the end of September. Kendra has an unshakable faith. I pray that God will provide where I cannot. If you could pray for her too I would appriciate it.

| Praying for Our Missionaries |
|
Matthew 9:36-38 When He saw the crowds, He had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest field.”
Jim and Trish Allen - Praise: Indonesia presently has 42 stations on the air with each one averaging 5 people coming to Christ every day. A friend called to police court in an Islamic nation has returned to home and ministry. An HCJB Global Medical Response team returned to Haiti (3rd visit) to minister. ”Corrientes” -our new initiative to mentor missionaries for cross-cultural, bi-vocational missions has seen its first four Latin American “graduates” go overseas.
Pray: For sensitivity and wisdom in ministering to some hurting families & individuals and that we will be a witness for Christ at Jim’s high school reunion & in our neighborhood.
Alice Statler - Pray: That we can get a place for classes here in the city of Thies and for moving our library and computers before classes begin the first week of October. Please pray with us for a good and inexpensive place to rent and a timely move. Also pray as we have set up a special project to be able to offer a full scholarship to a Senegalese young man and his wife, Etienne and Marie Sene. This special project will allow him to go to another country to study at an excellent seminary and concentrate on getting his degree in theology and possibly a master’s in micro-finance. Marie will also have the opportunity for training in Christian growth and discipleship, Bible knowledge and a skills such as typing and sewing as well as service in the church.
Bernie and Mary Miller – Pray: We are currently a little over half way through an orientation and training time with a team of young people from the Chicago area. They will be heading to Europe next summer to invest three years reaching out to North African immigrants in a major city. Their goal is to establish small reproducing groups of followers of Jesus. Pray for wisdom in adjusting the training as we go so it will be most effective. Kari began her senior year of high school today! Pray for her as she provides leadership in our church youth group in the coming months and pray for wisdom for Mary and I as we navigate emerging ministry opportunities in our community.
David and Donna Shaver - Praise: That we were in Catalina, AZ for our Mexico branch conference. There were over 150 people here representing hundreds of years of Bible translation efforts and multiple New Testaments and literacy materials were available in over 100 languages in Mexico!
Pray: As we begin to share about the ministry of Oaxaca Christian School and Bible translation in southern Mexico.
Joel and Carol Bowers - Praise: Praise God that after 40 days on the road, and over 5,600 miles, we made it home. Carol was able to join me (YEAH!) for the last 18 days and we were able to visit both sons and their respective families, including all 7 grandchildren. We are exhausted but glad to be home.
Pray: For increased understanding among the followers of Jesus and Muslims in many countries. Peacemaking and repairing the decades of strife and civil unrest between Muslims and those who follow Jesus is a major necessity. Pray that Muslims may come to faith and start meeting and encouraging one another. Pray for all the Christian individuals and churches reaching out to Muslims for boldness and revelation of His will. Many people live in fatalism and can see no future. Pray that many Muslims would encounter the Messiah, the giver of hope, through television, radio and personal witness.
Steve and Darlene Evers – Praise: Steve has had a “sweet time” of fellowship in Cape Town with our friends there, was able to speak on Sunday, and has just spent some time encouraging and being encouraged.
Pray: That Steve and Bob can finish strong and that God would be glorified is all that has happened. They will be leaving Cape Town on Wednesday and Steve will arrive in Phoenix on Thursday (Aug. 26) in the early evening, so I would really appreciate your prayers for their travels.
Brent and Melanie Palmer – Praise: Jordan returning from being in America. He learned a lot and we are thankful to have him back home. I can still be part of the same Bible study I was in last year.
Prayer: Jen to be able to come for Christmas. For the classes she is taking at the community college and that she could find a job soon. Pray also for the new school year, from my new position as a high school teacher and for the students. For the water aerobics group I’m starting and the ladies who will be in it.
Tucker and Meredith Boones – Pray: Safety and wisdom for travel, leaving Flagstaff on September 16 for Waxhaw and then back to Arizona. Joy in the journey as we want to honor God with our lives. Technical skills for Tucker to acquire a position at JAARS in the aviation support arm. Peace for our children in all the changes which can be stressful.

Being on your knees before God isn’t just a physical stance. It’s an attitude of the heart in which you are seeking God and are willing to submit to His plan for your future. As you spend time with Him in prayer, your relationship with God becomes deeper and more intimate. You feel His power in your life and begin to trust His hand in every situation. Instead of worrying about the problems in your path, you increasingly focus on Him and how He is working. This give you the assurance and boldness to face your troubles, because you’re confident that God’s plan for you will be accomplished. As difficulties arise the enemy will try to pull you away from God. However, God will call you to a deeper walk with Him so that you can experience His provision, grow in your faith, and be a shining example to others. You stand tallest and strongest on your knees because that is when you submit yourself to God!
