Roger Ball, Senior Pastor – Roger is our Senior Pastor. He began attending FBC in August 1983 and became Senior Pastor in November 1990. In addition to his pastoral duties at FBC, Roger also teaches in the various Masters’ and Doctoral classes at Phoenix Seminary and has served as Director of Mentoring at Phoenix Seminary. Local, national and international ministry for Roger has included school boards, compassion ministries, para-church work, conference speaking and Bible teaching. In the last couple of decades many men and women were launched into full-time ministry by FBC-Tempe through various training programs called Pastor-in-Training, Leader-in-Training and Missionary-in-Training. Any willing person can serve God. See our Mentoring Leaders web page. Roger and his wife, Dianna, have two daughters, Sharon and Sharmon. Roger is an Arizona native and enjoys carpentry, fishing and dreaming. |

Phillip Shepherd, Senior Worship Pastor – Phillip has been with us since December, 2009, and is a native of Georgia; born and raised in Monroe. He and his wife, Carole, have two children, Jaren and Lydia. He oversees all our fine arts ministries including all worship services, choirs, bands, orchestra, ensembles, praise teams, technical crews, and drama. Phillip’s hobbies are swimming, jogging, and acting. |

Matt Brecht, Evangelism and Outreach Pastor – Matt is the full time Teaching Associate Pastor overseeing adult education (discipleship) and evangelism at FBC. Matt and his wife Jenny have been part of FBC since 2007 and have two children, Kyla and Chase. Matt is an Arizona transplant from California and is blissfully content with not living on the left coast anymore. Matt is an avid student of Theology. He enjoys reading well-written books, playing Legos with Chase, kicking a ball with Kyla, working on his motorcycle, camping, making disciples, basking in the beauty of his lovely wife and giant servings of nachos. Matt’s favorite section of the Bible is John’s Gospel. Matt’s favorite quote is: “what’s wrong honey … can I make you something to eat?” (Matt’s Grandma Esther). |

Brian McDaniel, Student & Family Ministries Pastor – Brian is our full-time Youth and Family Ministries Pastor who oversees the Junior High, High School and College Ministries. He is originally from Indiana and began attending FBC in 1999. Brian and his wife, Kathy, have three children, Breanna, Ross and Paul. In his spare time, Brian enjoys fishing and woodworking. |

Jed Morrison, Business and Counseling Pastor – Jed began attending FBC in March 1993. Jed works directly with the Senior Pastor and his duties include overseeing the church finances, overseeing specific administrative staff and marriage and family counseling. Jed and his wife, Susan, have three children, Cory, Eric and Sadie. Jed’s interests include travel, movies, yard and home projects, family adventures and spending time with people. |
